Reece's Rainbow

It's that time of year again; when the charity solicitations begin showing up in droves in the mailbox. There are so many places to donate where it will make a real difference that it can be hard to choose, and if my pocketbook allowed I would give to many. Since I must set limits, Reece's Rainbow is one of my choices.
As the parent of a mentally impaired child, the work that they are doing is near to my heart. Children with Down Syndrome who are born in other countries, and especially in eastern Europe, are usually institutionalized if they are not adopted by the age of 4.  Reece's Rainbow raises funds to help those children get adopted, so they do not have to spend their lives languishing unloved in an institution. Every child deserves a home, a family and love, and special needs children are the least likely to get those things.  As the bible says, "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves…defend the rights of the afflicted and needy." (Proverbs 31:8,9) No one needs to be spoken up for more than disabled children who can't speak for themselves.

As the holiday season approaches, if you intend to make a donation to a charity, Reese's Rainbow is one worth considering. These are tough economic times, especially in my state, so if you would like to help, but are financially unable, there is another powerful way to make a difference. Become a prayer warrior. Prayer is powerful.

Claudia, thanks,I know we all have charities that are dear to us, and I think we have a responsibility to share the ones we believe in and try to help them accomplish their mission.
