Vegan Soup Review

Wow, look what I found on my porch last week- a whole case of Dr. McDougall's vegan soup!! They are in BPA-free cartons, contain no GMOs, are ready to serve, and did I mention vegan? Many of you are familiar with "The McDougall Plan"  by John A. McDougall, M.D. and these soups are based on his program of plant-based, oil-free nutrition. He was a co-founder of  Dr. McDougall's Right Food's Inc. and now serves as  Chairman of the Company.
If you are a regular reader here, you'll know I prefer to cook from scratch so that I can control my ingredients. However, that isn't always possible. Running a household of six, caring for a special needs child, and attending school full-time means that time is at a premium for me. A trip through the drive-thru for fast food burgers and fries is never an option here, nor are highly processed fake meats, so  items like this vegan soup are a real find!!
We tried two of the soups today, lentil and garden vegetable:

They were both seasoned well, had nice large veggie chunks; carrots, peas and potatoes, and got an enthusiastic thumbs up from my teen daughter- what more could you ask?! These are quality products and I would certainly recommend them for anyone short on time but still wanting to eat well.

These look really good. I'll have to give them a try (if I can find that brand!!)

So good to "see" you! I've missed you!!!

I'm going to keep those soups in mind (and on hand) for my kiddos. Great back up for those incredibly busy days. :-)

Wow, lucky you! I also prefer to make things from scratch, like you. I know what's going in it, and I can control what's going out of my wallet!

I just wanted to say that I just found your site. So inspiring! Thank you for all of the great recipes. Just adopting a vegetarian lifestyle and trying to make it family friendly. I have 3 girls ages 4 and under. I would love to hear your thoughts on cooking for young children. I don't mind having some cheese, but would like to limit it. I really want to have them eating a more plant based diet also. Thank you for all of your work here!!
